Candle Safety & Care
Candle Safety Information
Our candles are handcrafted with care, but like any open flame, candles should always be used responsibly. Please follow these safety guidelines every time you burn your candle.
Before Burning
- Always trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each use.
- Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant, level surface before lighting.
- Keep the candle away from drafts, fans, air vents, curtains, and anything that can catch fire.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Remove all packaging, labels, matches, and other flammable materials from the area before lighting.
While Burning
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep the candle within sight while it is burning.
- Do not burn your candle near anything that could catch fire.
- For best results and to prevent uneven burning, allow the first burn to create a full melt pool across the surface of the candle.
- We recommend burning your candle for no more than 3 hours at a time.
- Never move or pick up a candle while the wax is liquid or the container is hot.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and other debris.
Extinguishing Your Candle
- Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes too large, flickers excessively, or reaches the container.
- Do not use water to extinguish a candle.
- Allow the candle and wax to cool completely before handling.
- Before relighting, trim the wick back to approximately 1/4 inch.
When to Stop Burning
For container candles, do not burn the candle when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains. Continuing to burn a candle with very little wax can cause the container to become excessively hot.
Candle Container Safety
Candle containers can become hot while burning. Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface and allow the container to cool completely before handling.
Do not use the candle if the container is cracked, chipped, or damaged.
Important Reminder
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, and anything that can catch fire.
Burn responsibly. Enjoy your candle safely.
